After spending 7 years in the Oil Industry as Sullom Voe Accountant and an Oil Trader, Martyn was appointed as Financial Director in the family business.

As a Financial Project Manager, he has helped several businesses achieve their goals, financing business assets and he continues to enable and source finance for various projects. He has a particular aptitude for understanding the product and financial requirements.

Martyn’s expertise lies in financing Projects which have a low carbon footprint in which NeoSteel UK is comfortable situated.

Pieter Potgieter

CO – Founder / Officer

Pieter is a seasoned executive with over 40 years of international business leadership experience, specialising in mega-projects within the energy, infrastructure, construction, manufacturing, steel, mining, and green technology sectors. He holds both engineering and financial qualifications, blending technical expertise with strategic financial insight. He has led successful investment initiatives in over 27 countries, including the GCC, Africa, Europe, and CIS, with a proven track record of transforming organisations and delivering profitable, sustainable outcomes.

Pieter’s expertise spans master project leadership, corporate governance, and programme execution. His experience in business start-ups, mergers and acquisitions, and company turnarounds has enabled him to drive organisational changes and align investment strategies for long-term growth. His leadership in steel and mining industries, combined with energy innovations and value engineering and leading large groups of people at various levels in an organisation , allows him to implement disruptive technologies that surpass global competitors.

Mentored early in his career by a renowned Japanese leader in world-class manufacturing techniques, he integrates these best practices with his African philosophy of Ubuntu—emphasising interconnectedness, respect, and shared success. This approach allows him to lead diverse teams and collaborate across cultures, including the British work ethic.

As the creator of the IPEC framework, Pieter revolutionised project execution, ensuring seamless collaboration and high-impact results. His leadership in NeoSteel UK, a strategic green steel project, showcases his ability to lead transformative initiatives that will reshape the UK steel industry.
